EXTERNAL FACTORS FOR AFRICAN NATIONALISM
1. The impacts of the first world war (1939-1945); the war weakened the economies of the European colonialists. The colonial empires were becoming heavy burden to European countries and the Africans took advantages of economic weaknesses to struggle for their independence.
2. The role played by United nation organization from (UNO) 1945; UNO replaced the league on nations after its failure of preventing the occurrence of the WWII. UNO help the African countries to fight for their independence through forming the trusteeship council which had the responsibility of preparing the mandate territories for their own independence and also UNO put much pressure on the colonial government to grant independence to the African countries.
3. The rise of U.S.A as a leading capitalist power after the WWII; U.S.A started to support the decolonization process in Africa so that U.S.A can introduce new form of colonialism which known as neo-colonialism and USA supported the African countries via providing moral and material support.
4. The rise of United Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR);USSR as the socialists state it was against the exploitation done by the European colonialists hence USSR opposed highly the colonial exploitation and because of that, USSR started to support the African nation to fight for their independence through providing moral and material support.
5. Success of other countries such as India and Pakistan 1947;Independence of other nations had great influence on the rise of nationalism in Africa, for example the independence of India, Pakistan and Burma this countries increased morally to the Africans and because of the Africans thought that, if India under the British regain the their independence why us? And because of that, African countries started to fight hard for their independence .
