PHILOSOPHY (PART 3)

METAPHYSICS
It is the study of relationship between matter and mind (sole). It is the branch of philosophy that deals with being, existence and reality. It involves questions like: Do people have mind? If so, how is related to the mind? What is truth? Is there a God? Do people have free wills?
EPISTEMOLOGY
It is the branch of philosophy that primarily concerned with what we can know about the world and how we can know it. It is the philosophy of knowing and it is also the theory of knowledge. Typical questions include: What is knowledge? Do we know anything? How do we know what we know?
ETHICS
It is concerning with what we ought to do and what it would be best to do. It is the philosophy that concerned with what is right or wrong in human institutions. It attempts to answer questions like: What is good? What makes actions or people good? What is right? How should I treat others? What is bad?

LOGIC
It is the study of the structure and principles/techniques of reasoning. It distinguishes between correct thinking/reasoning from incorrect reasoning/ thinking. Logicians ask questions as: what constitute bad or good reasoning? How do we determine whether the given reasoning is good or bad?
AESTHETICS
It deals with art and beauty. It is the philosophical study of arts and philosophy of beauty and ugliness. It is more scientifically defined as the study of sensory or sensory emotional values. Sometimes called judgment of sentiment and taste, it deals with what is the test to recognize it, its characteristics, relation to or its effects upon human mind
