SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CANTERBURY IN NEW ZEALAND,2017/18 APPLY HERE NOW

The aim of the scholarship is to motivate the investigation the potential for phage-derived enzymes to be used as an intervention against bacterial pathogens of importance to food, water, and medicine.

Degree Level: The scholarship is available to pursue PhD programme.
Available Subject: The scholarship is awarded to investigate the potential for phage-derived enzymes to be used as an intervention against bacterial pathogens of importance to food, water and medicine.
Scholarship Benefits: The scholarship will cover the following:
  • The successful applicant will be enrolled at UC. International students at UC pay domestic fees and the University will assist you to obtain a student visa. This full scholarship includes a tax-free stipend of NZ $21,000 per year plus university fees for 3 years.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following area for the scholarship:
  • Applicants will have a high-quality Honours or Master’s degree in microbiology or biochemistry, and be able to work independently.
  • Applicants should have a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology and microbiology.
  • Applicants experience with protein expression, bioinformatics, and working with phages and bacterial pathogens in a PC2 environment would be an advantage.
