EXTERNAL FACTORS FOR AFRICAN NATIONALISM 1.       The impacts of the first world war (1939-1945); the war weakened the economies of the European colonialists. The colonial empires were becoming heavy burden to European countries and the Africans took advantages of economic weaknesses to struggle for their independence. 2.       The role played by United nation organization from (UNO) 1945; UNO replaced the league on nations after its failure of preventing the occurrence of the WWII. UNO help the African countries to fight for their independence through forming the trusteeship council which had the responsibility of preparing the mandate territories for their own independence and also UNO put much pressure on the colonial government to grant independence to the African countries. 3.       The rise of U.S.A as a leading capitalist power after the WWII; U.S.A started to support the decolonization process in Africa...
